Alright today I am going to give you the best network marketing tips I have learned over the course of my 15 plus years in this business.
There are 6 of them. If you can understand and apply these tips you are going to do great in your network marketing business.
Tip #1 – Understand What You Have
This is probably the number one reason people fail in this industry. They join with false expectations.
If we are honest many people have labeled this industry as get-rich-quick. They promote it to their friends and family as an easy and fast way to make money.
Unfortunately that method of promotion has been used by many to try to build their business.
We’ve all experienced it, a friend calls us and shows us “this thing” and tells us if we just get 3 people, they will get 3 people and we will all become filthy rich!
Not how it works and promoting your business this way never works out and it gives you and the industry as a whole a bad name.
Because as we all know deep down there is no such thing as get-rich-quick…
Network Marketing is a viable and proven business opportunity as much as any other model out there. Franchising, Affiliate Marketing, Blogging etc.
But it does take work.
You are going to have to learn new skills.
You are going to have to be dedicated and committed to doing what it takes daily to become successful.
And you are going to have ups and downs and lots of frustrations. Just like every any other business model.
But if you do go to work and are committed and will do what is required daily network marketing can be life changing in a relatively short period of time compared to most other opportunities out there.
Lives have been drastically changed in a matter of 18 – 36 months for many people.
And the truly incredible thing is that you can create this life changing business working part-time hours.
Working 2 – 3 hours a day for 4 – 5 days a week over an 18 – 36 months period will blow your mind what you can accomplish.
So get your head right and understand what you truly have.
Tip #2 – Be Coach-able
The problem with a lot of people in this business is they are not coach-able. The come in and decide they are going to build this business how they want to. They figure they know best.
Network Marketing is a different animal than any other out there. There simply is no business like it. No other business is built the way this business is.
Many people mistakenly think this is sales. It is not.
As much as I love sales people and I used to be one, they struggle at this business model because they bring their sales skills with them when they join.
And selling simply does not work here. What we do is share. There is a big difference and one you need to learn if you want to be a success.
This industry evens the playing field for everyone. We all start at ground zero and it requires we learn new skills. Skills that are unique to this industry.
So you must be coach-able. You must be willing to learn and apply what you learn from those who have done it and know how to build it successfully.
Which leads us to the next tip as it is a skill set that you must learn…
Tip #3 – Always Be Recruiting
It does not matter if you are earning 50k per month or $500 per month. If you are not recruiting new distributors monthly into your downline your business will be going backwards.
Understand that what we do here is recruit new distributors and get new customers and then teach them how to do the same thing.
I got pretty fired up when I came to realize that success in this business was simply a matter of getting good at sponsoring new reps into my business.
Learn to bring in at least 3 reps per month and great things are going to happen for you.
Here is the really great news, anyone can learn and get good at recruiting 3 new reps per month. Anyone!!
Recruiting is a LEARNED skill set. And one you can definitely learn and excel at in fact.
And because of the internet and social media recruiting new reps has never been easier.
Social media has evened the playing field and has allowed people to be able to log into their computer and build a very profitable business.
I train extensively on this blog on how to sponsor and recruit using social media sites like Facebook. You can check out some of those training here:

Tip #4 – Use 3rd Party Tools
This tip is part of learning how to recruit but it is such an important aspect of how we build the business that it needs to be discussed on its own.
Remember how I said selling does not work in this business?
The reason for that is when you are prospecting, your prospect is watching and listening to you. And guess what they are thinking?
Whatever you are doing they are thinking they will have to do if they join!
This is huge!
So if you are a sales wizard and can sell ice to an Eskimo, your prospect is noticing this and thinking to themselves they are going to have to learn all of this selling stuff.
And guess what?
They are not going to want to and are not going to have the time to.
But this is where 3rd party tools come into play and are so powerful.
All we do in this business is meet new people, develop a friendship with them and then simply ask them if they are open to taking a look at an opportunity.
If they are we simply provide them with a 3rd party tool that does the selling and telling for you.
This could be a:
- Video Presentation,
- Website,
- Facebook Group,
- Webinar,
- Etc…
A 3rd party tool is anything other than yourself that shares the opportunity with your prospect.
Now what happens is your prospect says to themselves:
“Wait a minute, all Robb did was ask me if I am open to taking a look at an opportunity and then simply sent me a video to watch… I can do that”!
This is powerful my friend.
3rd party tools is what allows the stay at home Mother who has no business or sales skills to go on and create massive success!
Tip #5 – Let Your Team Members Be Who They Are
You have to remember that you are building a volunteer army when you build a downline.
Not everyone is going to be as driven to succeed to the levels that you might be. If you are not careful you can scare people way.
The key to successfully building a network marketing downline is to the let the 10 percenters be the 10 percenters. Meaning some people will only do 10% of the business you do and that is A-ok, let them.
Let the 25% do their 25%, let the 50% do their thing, let the 80% do their thing and so on and so forth.
Believe it or not some people will join just to be a part of something. They like the team environment and the personal development aspect of the business. Let them do that.
Some people will only want to make enough money to pay for their product monthly, that is great, let them do that.
And some people will even do more than you do and of course let them do that! J
Meet people and embrace them where they are at.
Tip #6 – Always Be Recruiting
Did I mention this one already??
Yup I did and it the biggest and the most important of all the tips.
In fact if you did nothing else but got good at recruiting you would become a success in your business.
You would eventually sponsor people who would go out and figure this business out on their own and build you a large organization in the process.
Get good at recruiting my friend, it is the skill set that pays big dollars.
