In this post I am going to share with you 2 simple but powerful strategies on how to “promote network marketing” and build a highly successful and profitable business for yourself.
The first thing you have to remember in this business is that what we do is actually very simple.
I did not say that it was easy but it is most definitely simple.
What I mean is that the business building activities we do daily are simple. The very nature of how a network marketing downline is built requires that the activities be simple.
In order for you to have success everyone on your team must be able to have success. Your team must be able to duplicate what you do.
And in order for that to happen the person with the least amount of skill sets on your team must be able to do the activities and be able to see success with them.
This is why they must be simple.
If it’s Simple Why Do People Fail?
The hard part is that it is still work. And unfortunately most people shy away from work. Going to the gym is simple, getting in shape is simply but it takes work and dedication.
Same thing with success in our business, it takes time to be successful and there is rejection involved.
The majority of the people who fail do so because they get frustrated that it is not happening overnight and that people are rejecting them, i.e. it is not easy.
But nothing worthwhile is easy.
If these people who quit had of instead made the commitment to themselves to go to work and dedicate 1 year of their life to doing what is required daily they would have been blown away how their lives would have looked 365 days later.
So yes make no mistake what we do is simple. And in fact the simplest business model on the planet.
Here is How Simple It Really Is
People love to complicate this business when in the end all we are doing is making friends.
Success in network marketing is found in your ability to meet new people, create a friendship with these people and simply ask them if they are open to looking at an opportunity.
There really is no other business that is as simple and straight forward.
Why we want to complicate it I don’t know, but man do we try.
So when it comes to promoting your business really what you want to do is promote yourself. Become an attractive person, someone who people will like to meet and get to know.
In the Old Days it was Harder
Now I will admit that in the old days before the internet and social media becoming successful in network marketing was a lot tougher.
After you ran out of your existing friends to share your business with it was a challenge to go out and make new friends offline.
Your options were pretty much limited to joining every and any business organization you could find, organizations like your local chamber of commerce, church groups and toast masters were recommended as was joining a gym to meet people and of course hitting up your waiter or waitress every time you went out for lunch.
But All of That Has Changed
But nowadays the excuses are gone.
I can remember back in the day getting asked by my downline over and over again how do I meet people, where do I meet people.
If anyone asks me that now I have a very hard time not rolling my eyes.
Ummm turn on your computer, log into Facebook, LinkedIn, Instagram and Twitter to name just a few of the countless places you can now meet people online in no time flat.
There are billions of people online literally right at your fingertips waiting for you to friend them up.
The internet and especially social media was a game changer for network marketing. The excuses are gone.
Yes there is a right way and a wrong way to promote yourself online.
For sure you need to know and use the strategies that work. And yes the majority of people are doing it all wrong. Because again we love to complicate things.
2 Simple but Powerful Strategies Revealed
In this post I am going to share two powerful strategies you can use to get online and start meeting new friends and promoting your business.
I am going to give you a brief overview of each of these strategies and then I am going to point you to other training on this blog where you can learn exactly how to implement them both.
And I do recommend you use both of them. They work very well together.
As you will see one of them is an active prospecting method where you go out and actively meet people and prospect them where the other one uses internet marketing methods to attract people to you.
Together they are a powerful combination that will turn you into a sponsoring and team building machine…
Alright let’s get into the first one…
Promotion Strategy #1 – Your Personal Profile
This method can work on any of the social media platforms. It just so happens at the time of writing this blog post that Facebook is the best of the platforms to use, but you can easily implement it on any social media platform.
To start with let me explain to you why most network marketers are failing on Facebook.
It’s actually a very simple reason.
Pain and simply they are annoying the hell out of people!
There is an old saying out there that marketers mess everything up and it is no different for our business.
People join a company and they get all jacked up excited out of their head and they think everyone is immediately going to see what they saw when they saw the opportunity so they jump on Facebook and start spamming the heck out of everyone they know.
They start plastering their product and company links and photos all over their profile, their wall, their friend’s profiles, and any and every group they can find. They start blasting out their company links and websites in messenger to every friend they have.
Very quickly all of their friends either unfriend them or unfollow them and ignore their messenger messages.
Because people do not join social media to be sold to.
They do not want to log in and be harassed about buying a product or joining an opportunity. They log into to social media to be entertained and to be SOCIAL!
Instead, Treat it Like a Party
The key to your success using social media is to act like you would if you were going to a party.
In the end that is what social media is, a big party.
You would not walk into a party and start selling to everyone there. If you did you would quickly be shown the door and asked to leave and never be invited back again.
No what you would do is be a normal human being.
You would introduce yourself to people. You would have conversations. You would laugh, you would have fun and you would enjoy yourself all the while getting to know people and what?
Yup… making friends!
This is the basics of exactly what you want to do on Facebook.
Get Good at Making Friends
Yes there are strategies you can use to do this effectively and I am going to share them with you. But in the end you just simply want to get out there and make friends.
Just like you would for yourself when you are getting ready to go to a party, make your profile look attractive.
Have a nice profile picture of yourself.
Have an interesting and fun cover photo of you doing fun and exciting things.
Post pictures of you enjoying life.
Make posts on your profile that people will find entertaining, funny and educational.
Then head out and meet people. Send friend requests to people who are friends of your friends. Send a message and introduce yourself.
Join groups that you have an interest in. Meet the other members of the groups. Make posts in the group that other members would enjoy. Strike up conversations with the other members. Comment and like their posts.
People from the groups will start sending you friend requests and you can start sending them friend requests. Always send a message before accepting a friend request or when you send one a request.
Be a human! Make friends. Set a goal to make at least 5 new friends a day. 10 – 20 is even better.
Now Simply See if They Are Open to an Opportunity
Then once you have become friends and have developed a relationship or some rapport simply ask them if they are open to looking an opportunity.
Don’t over complicate this process, it is simple.
“Hey so & so;, it has been very cool getting to know you, listen I noticed you live in Portland, I actually have an internet business and would be very interested in expanding into Portland, just thought I would see if you would be open to taking a look at this opportunity, might be something you are interested in and might not be, either way thought I would check”.
That my friend is it. Change that message up, make it your own. But the point is that you are simply asking if they are open to taking a look.
Rinse and repeat…
Meet new people, make new friends, and see if they are open to looking at an opportunity! SIMPLE!

Promotion Strategy #2 – Attraction Marketing
Alright this second strategy is another powerful business building method you can implement as well.
It can become a very powerful method of building your business.
It is different from the first method in that it is more of a passive method.
Where the first method we just looked at has you going out and actively meeting people. This method instead has you putting out pieces of content designed for people to find at a later point in time and take action on then.
A piece of content could be a blog post like this one.
The Basics of How it Works
You create a blog post and over time as you create more blog posts your blog will start to get noticed and become popular. People will start to find your blog post and be interested in what you have to say.
If you are blogging about how to help people build a home based business then you will also naturally be promoting your network marketing business as the best option for people to have the success they are looking for.
As people come to see you as an expert in the subject and come to know, like and trust you many of them will want to join you in your business.
Same type of principle would apply if you were promoting a weight loss product…
You could blog about weight loss, health, nutrition and fitness.
People would start to see you as an expert and of course you would be promoting your network marketing companies weight loss product and people will buy it because you “the expert” recommends it.
Other pieces of content you could create could be YouTube videos, Instagram posts, Facebook ads, etc.
This Method Does Require Patience
It’s an awesome strategy, but it does have a learning curve associated with it and it does take time to get traction.
Plan on putting in at least 6 – 12 months of work before you start to generate any significant amount of leads and business from it.
But once you do start to it is a game changer. It is not unheard-of for people to be generating 10 – 15 highly targeted leads per day. When you get to that level you can write your own ticket.
My advice is to spend 70% of your time using the first strategy we discussed. Then with the remaining 30% of your time start implementing this strategy.
Also you will always want to still work the first strategy, regardless of how may leads you are generating with this strategy.
The reason for that is that you are building a network marketing team. And remember when I said the business building activities need to be simple and everyone on your team must be able to do them successfully?
Well this strategy is not what most would consider simple, simply because of the time and effort it takes to get traction with it. So most people on your team will not use this method.
However, the first method works incredibly well also and it is simpler to implement and everyone and anyone on your team can do it successfully if they are serious about building their business.
This strategy is reserved for those who are super committed and want to put their business on overdrive.
