In today’s post I am going to share with you some Network Marketing Techniques for recruiting and building a downline that if you put into action will accelerate your businesses growth and allow you to start crushing your business.
Before we get into these 4 techniques it is important that you understand that all it takes to become a success in your business is you going out and making friends and seeing if your new friends are open to looking at an opportunity and than teaching them and anyone they bring in (your team) how to do the same thing.
That truly is all that is involved…
But wow do we love to complicate the process. A simple search on the internet for techniques to build your business will reveal just how much people love to complicate this very simple business model.
It is incredible how many different systems and strategies supposed “goo-roos” have come up with to complicate the process. In most cases they do so in order to sell you on their course or system.
Beware of any training that teaches you anything other than finding ways to get out there and meet people, develop a relationship with them and than see if they are open to looking at an opportunity.
There are 4 techniques for prospecting and recruiting that I recommend because that follow this very simple business building philosophy.
And in this post I am going to give you a brief overview of each of them and than point you to other posts on this blog where you can learn the exact steps to take to start using them.
Technique #1 – The Friends You Already Have
Remember that all we do in this business is make friends and than see if they are open to looking at an opportunity.
So it only makes sense that you approach the existing friends you have first.
This allows you to launch your business and get it off to a fast start.
Going out and making new friends is not hard, but it can take some time. So as you are making new friends daily using the strategies I will share in this post it is imperative that you launch your business by going to the friends you already have.
This is called your warm market.
Many people for some reason have an apprehension or fear of approaching their existing friends. If this is you get over your fear quickly.
Your warm market is crucial to your success.
Why Your Warm Market is so Important
You might not even have much success yourself approaching your friends and family however I can still assure you that going to this market is still going to be crucial to your success.
The reason for this is that whatever you do your team will do. And trust me you want your team going to their warm market.
This is because it is the easiest market to approach, takes the least amount of effort and it works very well if done correctly, and countless people have built 6, 7 & 8 figure businesses focusing on their warm market.
And because it is the easiest strategy your team is more likely to use it than any of the others.
True success in network marketing is found in creating business building activities that are able to be duplicated by your team. You need a team that is growing in order to earn the large commission checks and this is the method that will create the most growth over the long term.
As I have said if done right this strategy is very powerful. I created a 6 figure income with it in under 8 months and I know many other people who have done the same and even a whole lot better.

Technique #2 – Live Your Life
So keeping in mind all that we are doing is meeting new people it only makes sense to become aware of people around you when you are out living your life.
Now I am NOT saying head out around town and solicit people for your business.
In fact don’t do that. It is a waste of time, does not work and will only lead to you getting burnt out and frustrated.
What I am saying is while you are out doing what you do already raise your awareness level of the people around you. Always be looking for opportunities to meet new people.
For example my kids are big time in sports. I am at a practice or a game at least 3 times per week. So are the parents of the other kids.
Guess what I do?
I am friendly with them. I talk to them. I joke and laugh with them. I make FRIENDS!
I did not say I try to sell them my product or business opportunity, I said I make friends.
It is an easy thing to do and keeping an eye open for opportunities to meet people while living your normal life can easily result in you creating 1 – 2 new leads for your business every day.
If you only met 1 new person per day that is 365 new leads per year for your business.
A quick tip when using this strategy is after you meet them add them to you social media account (Facebook, LinkedIn, Instagram ,etc.). This will speed up the relationship building stage.
Which leads into the next method I use and recommend, i.e. Social Media!
Technique #3 – Facebook Recruiting Frenzy
Social media was and is literally a game changer for network marketing.
In the old days before people become as addicted to social media as they have your only options to build a business after you ran out of your warm market was to either get out into your community and meet people using various methods or buy and call cold leads which I did and it was the most painful business building experience I ever had.
When social media showed up I can remember telling another leader in the company I was with what a game changer it was…
Back than I was using Myspace and was loving it. I was sitting in the comfort of my home meeting new people and recruiting them into my business.
It was no problem to meet 5 – 10 people in an evening. What used to take me months to do I was accomplishing in days.
I train extensively on my blog in regards to this strategy and it is one that I recommend you most definitely incorporate into your business building plan and start using immediately after you finish going to your warm market.
Don’t Be a Spammy Tammy
I am going to give you some links to posts on this blog where I go into the exact step by step process of using this strategy, however the big thing to remember is to not become a spammer.
In fact never mention your companies name or product unless someone has asked for information or has agreed to take a look.
Most network marketers are using social media all wrong and completely destroying their chances of achieving success.
They go online and spam their links all over the place, their wall, their friend’s profiles, groups, and in private messages. They harass the heck out of people and inevitably fail.
Friends First Always
You will see in my training the exact strategies for meeting and recruiting people however if you never studied any of these methods and simply went out and acted like a normal human being instead of a spammy tammy you would do great.
If all you did was set a goal to meet 10 new people per day, became Facebook friends with 5 of them per day and asked 2 – 3 of them daily if they are open to looking at your opportunity you would do very well in your business.
It really is that simple.
Treat social media like you are going to a party. Have fun.
How Would You Behave at a Party?
When you go to a party you make sure you are looking good. Do the same with your profile. Have a nice profile picture of yourself. Have a fun cover photo showing you out doing exciting and fun things.
When you go to a party you would meet new people. Do the same thing on FB. Start with friends of people you already know. Go and meet them and get to know them. Start conversations with them and send friend request.
Then head out to groups that you have interests in. Start posting information the other group members would find interesting, entertaining and educational.
Comment on other group members posts. Like their posts. You will start to receive friend requests from group members, send them a message and accept their friend request.
When you go to a party you are going to have fun conversations. Do the same thing on your profile.
Start posting things that people would find entertaining, informative and educational. Comment on your friends posts in your news feed. Start private conversations in messenger.
Do not bring up your business until the time is right.
When is the Right Time to Talk Business?
Great question and do not complicated this. Do not over think it. Focus on continuing to meet people and making friends.
The time will be right at a different time for each of your friends. Some people it might be the first day you meet them depending on what type of back and forth you are having, other people it might be 6 months. (that’s much too long but it could happen).
Don’t be afraid to ask if they are open to looking at your business but don’t rush it. Quality over quantity!
What to do When the Time Is Right
When the time is right asking if someone is open to taking a look at your opportunity is a simple process.
Simply ask them.
You can say something along the lines of…
“Hey Joe-joe, it’s been really great getting to know you. I can’t recall if I ever told you what I do. I own an Internet business and it dawned on me that you might find it interesting also and thought I would ask if you would be open to taking a look at it, might be for you or it might not be, if not no big deal, just thought I would ask, let me know”
That is all there is to it. Very simple. Change your message up each time so FB does not think you are spamming but keep the focus on just reaching out to see if they are open, no pressure.

Technique #4 – Internet Marketing
OK so the first 3 strategies we covered in this post are what I would consider “Must Do’s” for everyone. You and your team should be doing all 3 of them.
The last one we are going to cover is an advanced method and is not for everyone.
The reason it is not for everyone is that it has a higher learning curve associated with it and it takes time to get results. Typically 6 – 18 months.
Which means most of your team members will not do it and if they do they will quit doing it after a few weeks and become discouraged.
However, for those who will focus on it and commit to learning how to do it and understand it requires patience it can take your business to astronomical heights.
All of the top leaders and trainers you see on social media and the internet are using this method. (in conjunction with the other methods we discussed).
You Are a Marketer so Market
Basically this puts the “marketing” back into network “marketing”.
Using internet marketing strategies such as blogging, paid ads, and video marketing to name a few, you create pieces of content designed to target people who are either looking for a product like yours or who would be interested in a business opportunity.
You create a piece of content daily aimed around these topics. As you create more and more pieces of content people come to see you as an expert on the topic.
As they start to follow you and start to see more of your content and learn from what you are sharing they begin to know, like and trust you.
When that happens they become very open and interested in any product or opportunity that you share with them. I.e. your network marketing companies product or the business opportunity itself.
It is not uncommon for people using this method to be able to generate 10 – 15 highly targeted and interested leads for their business, service or product every single day.
If this technique is of interest to you I would recommend that you allot no more than 30% of the time you have allotted to build your business towards working on it.
Spend the remaining 70% of your time focused on the other methods we discussed in this post.
This way you can continue to build your down line and team, keep your momentum going and as you start to generate leads and business using this method you can adjust the amount of time you spend on it accordingly.
