#1st Key – Your Mindset
Mindset is everything in anything you want to be successful in. And network marketing is no different. Getting your head right and understanding what is involved in being a success in this business is key.
Every time I enroll a new team member I always have the conversation about mindset. I call it the “Get Your Head Right” chat.
You see too many people come into network marketing with the wrong mindset. Many come in thinking it is get-rich-quick. That everyone they talk to is going to immediately join them. Everyone they share their product with is going to want to buy.
Now if you have been with your company for at least 30 seconds you know that is far from the truth.
Many people are under the illusion that all they have to do is recruit 2 people and they will recruit 2 and they will recruit 2 and they will recruit 2 all the way down the line forever and it is easy street baby!
And again if you have been in your network marketing business for any period of time you know this is not how it goes either.
So it is important for you and your team members to understand that this is a business. It is going to take work. It is going to take effort. You are going to have frustrations and setbacks.
It is not get-rich-quick…
BUT it is the quickest way available for everyday people to create incredible wealth. It is the best lifestyle on the planet. And it is very possible for you to achieve your goals and dreams with it. And with consistent action you can do so within 6 – 24 months depending on how much time you have daily to be able to dedicate to your business.
So understand the powerful opportunity you have with your network marketing business, get your head right and get to work!
#2 Key – The Skill Set of Prospecting
Over the course of your life you have learned countless skills. From walking, talking, riding a bike, playing sports, playing an instrument and doing whatever you do for a living, etc.
Here is a mind blowing piece of reality for you…
All you have to do is learn 1 more skill set and you are set for life.
Becoming good at prospecting is a learned skill. Nobody was born with it. Everyone who is good at it had to learn and practice how to become good.
All of the top recruiters in this industry started out being terrible at it.
Anyone with desire, determination and commitment can become very good at prospecting. When done right it is not a hard skill set to learn. And when you do you can write your own ticket. You can join any network marketing company and go onto to become a top earner.
My recommendation when it comes to prospecting is to focus on the following two strategies:
Passive Facebook Approach and Attraction Marketing.
Let’s take a quick dive into each of them and I will also give you some links to trainings that will go into further detail on both of them.
Prospecting Strategy #1 – Passive Facebook Approach
This strategy is based around you creating influence over a large group of people who will come to know, like and trust you so that when you ask them to look at your opportunity they will take your request very seriously.
As the name implies you do this on Facebook. However you can implement this method on any social media platform. It is a simple strategy that works well and that is also very duplicatable so your team members will be able to do it also.
The basics of this strategy are…
First decide who your target market is. Who do you want to focus your prospecting efforts on? Give this some serious thought. Not all prospects are created equal.
Who do you want to build a team with? Who do you relate to? Who would do great with your business? What type of people are they?
Now figure out where they hang out on Facebook. What groups and pages?
Then go into those groups and provide value. If your target market are entrepreneurs value could be anything they will find educational, entertaining or motivating.
You could provide sales tips, marketing trainings, motivational thoughts, etc.
Answer questions people ask. Like and comment on their posts.
By providing this value your target market is starting to look up to you. You are starting to develop a brand. You are building know, like and trust with them. You are building influence.
They will start to add you as a friend. And you can add them as friends.
Now you are back at your own profile. Continue to do the same thing.
Provide value based on what your target market would find helpful. Out of every 10 posts do this 6 times. 3 times make lifestyle posts. Posts and photos of you living your life. Out doing fun and interesting things.
Then 1 post out of every 10 you can post about your network marketing business or product. But it is important to do it in a nonchalant way that creates curiosity. Do not be spammy or salesy. Do not let them know what the company or product name is. This will create curiosity and they will reach out to you for more information.
You can also reach out to them once you have built some rapport.

The other method of prospecting which has been the key to many network marketers success is Attraction Marketing.
Prospecting Strategy #2 – Attraction Marketing
When it comes to recruiting there are basically two ways you can do it. Either through prospecting like we just talked about or marketing.
Marketing is putting a piece of content out into the universe trusting that over time it will bring prospects to you.
A piece of content could be a blog post, a YouTube video, a Tweet, an Instagram post or a Facebook Ad on your business page, etc.
This is the basics of Attraction Marketing. You put out valuable content and as you continue to do so on a regular basis you are attracting leads or prospects to you.
They come to see you as the authority figure in your chosen niche. They come to see you as someone who can help them achieve their goals.
If you are putting out trainings geared to help network marketers have success then your prospect will come to see you as someone who can help them create the success in network marketing that they desire and many of them will reach out to you wanting to work with you in your business.

And Last But Not Least
As powerful as the information that we just discussed is, the number one key factor that is going to determine your success in network marketing is you doing the work over and over again until it happens.
Many people will start and than stop and than start again. They repeat this cycle of never ending quitting and starting and they never allow themselves to get any traction on their business.
Consistent daily action is the secret to success. Darren Hardy wrote a book called the Compound Effect and it talks about how your daily consistent activities compound on themselves and create the success you desire.
Hard work and consistency with a never quit attitude will propel you to heights you never deemed possible.
