In today’s post you are going to learn 2 very powerful strategies on how to do Multi Level Marketing on Facebook the right way.
There is no question that for many people Facebook has been a game changer when it comes to building their business. However for as many success stories as have been created there is a much larger number of people who are failing miserably at it.
Just like any other method of building your multi level marketing business there is a right way and a wrong way to use Facebook. And the fact is most people are using it all wrong.
Most network marketers use the platform like it is a spam machine.
They are on there annoying the hell out of people. Slamming their business opportunity links all over their profile, their friend’s walls, and in groups and pages; as well as sending spammy private messages to complete strangers in messenger.
None of these methods work and never have.
Successful prospecting and recruiting is accomplished by using strategies that will allow you to grow your network of people who know, like and trust you.
By being able to create an ever expanding contact list of people who will look at your opportunity when you ask them to because of the know, like and trust factor you have created with them.
As I said at the outset of this post, there are 2 strategies you can use on Facebook to accomplish this.
So Which One Should You Use?
Everyone should use the first strategy I am going to share.
The reason for this is that it is not only the simpler of the two strategies but because it works incredibly well, you can build a very successful business using it, it does not cost anything and it will duplicate within your downline.
The second strategy is also very powerful. And I highly recommend it as well.
However there is a learning curve to it. It does cost some money to implement and it is not for everyone.
If you have an extra $100 – $200 to invest in your business and you can dedicate an extra hour a day on top of what you are already doing then you should considering adding this strategy to your business plan as well.
OK let’s jump into how both of these strategies work…
Multi Level Marketing on Facebook Strategy #1 – Personal Profile
This strategy uses your personal profile and is what I call an active prospecting method.
The basis of this strategy involves you picking a target market, actively going out and meeting them on Facebook and then creating influence with them by making posts that they will find informative, educational and entertaining.
By providing them with this sort of information they come to see you as a person of value thus increasing your influence with them.
The more you make posts around topics they find interesting the more they will come to know, like and trust you.
For example let’s say I choose entrepreneurs as my target market. I could make any of the following posts to build influence and increase my value with my prospects:
- Business tips
- Marketing strategies
- Goal setting advice
- Motivational thoughts
The list is endless of what I could post that they would be interested in.
As I make these sorts of posts my influence goes up with them. They come to know me, they come to like me and they come to trust me.
And what happens when you build this kind of relationship with someone is that when you ask them to look at your multi level marketing opportunity they will.
And not only will they look at it they will take it seriously.
The following is the basic overview of how to implement this strategy as well as links to other training’s on this site to master it and put it into action…
The 8 Steps to Using Your Personal Profile to Recruit
Step 1 – Pick your target market.
You need to nail this down. With this strategy everyone is NOT your prospect. You need to get very clear on who you are targeting.
Considering a good portion of your time is going to be spent producing and providing content that your target market will be interested in, I would recommend that you also should have an interest in the content.
It is much easier to post content that you enjoy instead of content that you don’t enjoy. It is also much easier to relate to people you have things in common with.
You could pick a target market based on any interest you have…
- Fitness
- weight loss
- business
- marketing
- motivation
- personal development
- boating
- hiking
- camping
- network marketing
- internet marketing
- sales
- basketball, etc.
The sky is the limit.
Step 2 – Clean up your profile.
The very first thing your prospects are going to do when you reach out to them is head over to your profile to see what you are all about.
You want to make the best first impression possible.
Make sure your profile picture is a nice picture of you looking at the camera and smiling. Do not include anyone or anything else in the picture. Just you.
Your cover photo should be a picture of you out living life. Doing fun and exciting thing. A picture of you doing things that people wish they were doing on a Monday afternoon. You can include family and friends in this photo.
Step 3 – Clean up your profile.
Go through your old posts and delete photos and things that you would not want a serious prospect to see.
Remove any links or mentions of your multi level marketing company, opportunity or product.
You never want your prospect to see or hear about your opportunity unless you are sharing it with them.
Step 4 – Join groups
Now it is time to go and find where your prospect hangs out. Do a search for groups based on your target market’s interests.
Using my example of Entrepreneurs, I would simply do a search for entrepreneurs or small business owners. You will find groups based on the search.
Join 3 – 5 of them. Make sure they are groups that have people active in them. Make sure they are not spam groups.
You want people actively engaging and communicating not spamming each other. I would recommend that the groups you join have at least 50,000 people in them.
Step 5 – Get involved
Facebook is a social media platform which means you need to get social.
What you want to do is 1 – 2 times per day go into the groups you joined and post some content.
Again this content is going to be based around helping your target market. Answer questions they may have. Provide information they will find helpful, educational, informative and entertaining.
Tips, tricks, how to, etc.
You also want to engage on other people’s posts. Comment on what they post. Answer questions they may have. And like and love their posts.
Step 6 – Moving people to your personal profile
As you continue to provide value in the groups your influence with the members will start to grow.
People will start to see you as a person of value.
You will start to have people following your personal profile and sending you friend requests. Accept the friend requests but make sure to send them a message as well.
Do not bring up your business, just be a normal human talking about normal human things. Remember Facebook is social media so keep it social.
You can also start sending friend requests to the people you are engaging with in the groups. Again be sure to send them a message with the friend request.
You also might want to comment on one of their posts in the group letting them know you sent them a friend request and private message in messenger.
Step 7 – Back on your personal profile
Alright so we are back on our personal profile. Now don’t not ruin what you have accomplished by going all spammy and posting recklessly about your multi level marketing business.
There is a correct way to post about what you are doing, but first you will want to continue what you were doing in the group.
Continue to make posts that will educate, inform and entertain your target market. We will call these value based posts. For every 15 posts you make, do 8 – 10 value based posts.
Then make 3 – 5 lifestyle posts. These are posts of you out living your life. Out doing fun things. Posts that will let people into your life. Let them get to know you.
And then lastly for every 15 posts you make weekly you can make 1 – 2 business and/or product posts.
But again you are not going to spam people. You are not going to post your network marketing opportunity link. And you are not going to mention the name of your company.
Instead, you are going to make what are referred to as curiosity posts.
A curiosity post is very much like a movie trailer. It only gives your prospect enough information to make them want to know more.
You want to make them curious as to what you are doing.
2 Examples of a Curiosity Post
OK so the following is an example of a curiosity post if you are promoting your multi level marketing business opportunity.
Post a picture of you in front of your lap top giving the ol’ thumbs up and say:
“Well here I go. I’ve decided it is time to stop lying around in my spare time Netflix Bing watching and start earning some extra cash by building an internet business. Pretty pumped for the journey. Wish me luck!”
Simple as that. You can also do a video or a Facebook live saying the same kind of thing.
All you are doing is making people curious as to what you are doing. You never said what the internet business was and this will drive people crazy wanting to know, especially as you continue to make future curiosity posts updating people on how it is going.
And you can do the same thing with your product. Let’s say you have a weight loss product you want to promote.
You could post a picture of you taking the product. And say:
“Well it’s time to lose that extra 10lbs. I’m going for it. My friend lost 25lbs on this program, so feeling optimistic. Wish me luck”
Again you can make that post via video as well.
Then in future curiosity posts simply update your prospect on how you are making out with your weight loss.
Step 8 – Transitioning to Business
Alright so this is all well and good but how does one now transition to getting people to look at your multi level marketing opportunity or product?
There are a few ways to accomplish this:
1) First as you are making curiosity posts people are going to comment on your post asking what it is you are doing. Do not tell them on the post itself. Reply to their comment on your post that you have sent them a private message.
Now message them and say something like:
“Hey so & so; I saw your comment on my post, I can send you some information on what I am doing if you like?”
When they come back and say yes then you send them the link.
2) The next method is to simply ask people if they are open.
As you start to develop rapport and relationships with your new Facebook friends you can simply ask them if they are open to looking at your opportunity.
Because you have created influence with them and they have come to know, like and trust you, a good percentage of them will tell you that they will take a look at it.
And there you have it my friend a simple but very effective and powerful strategy that you should have all of your team using!

Now let’s dive into the 2nd strategy…
Multi Level Marketing on Facebook Strategy #2 – Attraction Marketing
Where the first strategy is an active prospecting strategy, this one would be considered a passive strategy.
So I will say right out of the gates that I love this strategy, but that it is not for everyone.
I love it because it is a very powerful strategy that once up and running generates highly targeted prospects who literally reach out to you wanting to know about your business, product or service.
Talk about a game changer!
But I say it is not for everyone because it has a steep learning curve, it costs money and it takes time to get results (6 – 12 months depending on the strategy you use).
Now since you are taking the time to read a long training post like this there is a good chance that Attraction Marketing may be for you.
Reading a post like this tells me you are dedicated and serious about building your business. And that is what it takes to become good at Attraction Marketing.
But if you use this method it is crucial to your success in building a down line that you spend no more than 30% of your time allotted for building on this strategy. Again this is because it takes time to get results and you need to stay in active prospecting mode or your business is going to stall.
Once you start getting results from Attraction Marketing you can slow down on the active prospecting methods but I would not recommend giving them up all together because your downline is going to do what you do, it’s that funny thing called duplication. And you want them to be actively recruiting, which means you need to be actively recruiting or they won’t.
Onto The Good Stuff
OK so here is how this strategy works.
The concept is the same as the first strategy in that you are looking to create influence with your prospects. You want to become seen as an expert or authority in their eyes.
However instead of actively going out and engaging with your prospect in Facebook groups you are going to use Internet Marketing to put out pieces of content such as blog posts, YouTube videos, Facebook Lives, Facebook business page ads, etc.
These pieces of content provide value and help them solve their problems.
The more pieces of content you put out the more prospects are going to find you and begin to see you as an authority and a person of influence.
Part of the process is going to be to create a website and newsletter which will allow you to create marketing funnels.
All of the pieces of content you create will drive people towards your website and newsletter where you will be able to continue to develop rapport and begin to promote your opportunity and product to them on regular basis.
Over time your prospects come to know, like and trust you and a good percentage of them will want to work with you and/or buy your product or anything else you promote to them.
There is a lot more involved with this strategy and this was a very high elevated overview of how it works.

Very welcome Kathy. And you nailed it bang on, just like anything worthwhile in life the serious people get the results! 🙂
Hi Robb
Great post. Very informative but simple to read. The layout is easy on the eye also. Your points Make a lot of sense and no doubt you and many others have and will succeed with this strategy. Keep up the good work.
Cheers Russ, good to hear from you man.
I think it makes a lot of sense to put your audience first before your desire to recruit them. Well written. It goes hand in hand with creating content with the user in mind. Now you’ve created authority the right way, and that goes a long way.
Hey Eric, good to hear from you. Yup People will come to know like and trust you by you first showing how much you care by providing them with value to help solve their problems. Cheers!
Wow, that was a compelling, educational, and informative post like never before. Awesome tips on Multi-Level-Marketing on Facebook, so my only question for you today is this type of marketing better for experienced marketers or can beginners just starting a business can be successful with this as well?
Jeff
Great question Jeff. Absolute beginners, people just starting out should follow this training here. After that then start with the first strategy mentioned on this post of using your personal profile and finally move onto the 2nd strategy I discussed which is Attraction Marketing. Cheer man.
