Success in your MLM Business is contingent on two things. Becoming good at recruiting and getting your new team members to do the same thing.
The strategies you will find on this blog will show you how to easily recruit 5 – 10 new distributors per month as well as getting your downline creating the same type of results.
In this post I am going to give you 3 of my top strategies for recruiting, as well as links to more training on each of them.
If you use just 1 of these strategies you will become one of the top recruiters in your company. If you use all 3 of them you are going to become one of the best recruiters in the industry. And the cool part is that all 3 of them work very well together and you can easily use all 3 if you so desire.
Master one at a time and then move onto the next is the best way to proceed. Do not try to learn and get good at all three of these strategies at once.
A quick note before we get into this info…
All 3 of these MLM recruiting methods use the internet and Facebook. I do recommend and train on recruiting from your warm market and off-line as well. You can learn about what work best with those methods here:
OK let’s dive into the first one.
Strategy #1 – Facebook Direct Approach
This uses Facebook to directly approach prospects about your opportunity. If done right it is very effective. You do have to work the numbers. Meaning you are going to go through a lot of No’s in order to get a Yes.
But as you get good at this method your ratio of no’s to yes’s will improve and you will dial it in. And over time you will learn what your ratio is. For example you may have to approach 100 people to get 5 yes’s.
Everyone is going to have their own ratio. But once you figure out what yours is you will then know exactly how many people you need to prospect daily to attain whatever goal you set for recruiting people monthly.
The first step is to set up your personal profile correctly.
You Must Look the Part
When you approach a prospect on Facebook the first thing they are going to do is head over to your profile to see who this person is that is contacting them.
You want your profile to attract them to you and not repel them.
Keep it professional looking, upbeat and positive.
Your profile picture needs to be of you. Not your cat, not your dog, not your kids, You! Make sure you are looking your best and you are smiling.
Your cover photo should be of you doing something fun. It should show you enjoying yourself. This could be you out with family doing family stuff. It could be you on vacation, hiking, skiing, boating, and enjoying yourself.
Don’t have pictures, links or videos of your product or MLM Company. In fact don’t even talk about them anywhere on your page. Your prospect should have to ask you what you are doing. They should not be able to figure it out on their own.
We are going to talk about your target market in the next section. But keep this in mind. The things you post on your profile should be of interest, value and entertaining to your prospect. More on that in a second.
Pick a Target Market
Unlike what your up line has probably told you. When recruiting online not everyone is your target market. With this strategy you want to get very clear on who you want to recruit into your business.
What do they look like, what do they do, what are their interests.
This is important because we have to know where to find them on Facebook.
Maybe you want to recruit realtors, insurance brokers, personal trainers, coaches, entrepreneurs, the choice is really yours.
My advice is make sure whomever you choose as your target market you have something in common with as it makes it easier to communicate with them.
Finding Where Your Prospects Hang Out
OK once you decide who your ideal prospect is i.e. your target market finding them on Facebook is easy.
You want to do a search for groups where they hang out.
So if your target market is realtors you would do a search for groups about realtors.
Go into the group and make sure it is a legitimate group. You want to stay away from spam groups. It is not hard to tell what a spam group is, they are filled with people posting their links for their products all over it with very little if any real engagement between people.
Instead you want to find groups where people are actively engaging in valuable conversation with each other. Look for groups that have at least 50,000 people in them and that people are active in them.
Find 3 – 5 groups like this.
Locating and Approaching Your Prospect
Now just simply look for sharp people in the group. Find people who are active, either posting, commenting and liking posts.
Click on their profile and go over and take a quick look at it. Do they look like a good prospect to recruit? Are they upbeat, positive and active on their profile?
Once you find a good prospect you are simply going to send them a message like the following:
“Hi So & So;, I know we don’t know each other however we are in the same group (name the group). The reason I am messaging you is I noticed you live in (name city or town), I am actually looking to expand my business there and for fun I thought I would reach out to you to see if you would be open to taking a look at it, if not no worries just thought I would run it by you”.
That my friend is it.
Change that message up every time you send it, do not just copy and paste it. Put it in your own words.
This is a total numbers game…
You are sorting through to find people who would be interested in looking at info on your MLM business. Don’t get hung up on the results just focus on the process and working the numbers.
I would recommend not sending more then 20 of these a day and spacing them out in 5 person increments so that Facebook does not get cranky at you.
Onto the 2nd strategy…
Strategy #2 – Facebook Passive Approach
This next approach is very similar to the last one from the stand point of setting up your profile and finding your target market.
You want to set your profile up the same way as I just described. You also want to pick your target market in the exact same way and find 3 -5 groups where they hang out in.
But here is where the strategy changes.
Instead of working the numbers what you are doing is developing influence over your target market. A brand so to speak.
Your goal is to have your prospects look up to you as an expert in whatever field you choose to brand yourself in. You are going to create know, like and trust with them.
By creating this influence when you go to recruit them and ask if they are open to looking at your MLM business a higher number of them will be.
You’ve Seen Influence in Action Before
We have all seen that person join an MLM company and have instant success. They recruit a ton of people and fly through the ranks and create a huge organization almost overnight.
How are they able to do this?
Simple they have influence over a large group of people. They developed this influence through something they did prior to joining network marketing. And when they asked people to look at their business they did and those people took it very seriously.
People offline who have influence are typically doctors, community leaders, entrepreneurs, athletes, coaches, realtors, small business owners, bloggers, preachers, CEO’s, etc.
Influence is a very powerful thing to have in MLM.
Now the great new is that with this passive approach to using Facebook you can create this type of influence and more and so can your downline.
How This Strategy Works
Alright so here is how this works.
First you have decided on a target market. For this example let’s say your target market is people who want to lose weight.
You are going to brand yourself as the fitness guru. The go to person when it comes to all things fitness.
You head out to those 3 – 5 groups you located where people who want to lose weight are spending their time.
You are going to go into the group and start providing value. Tips & trainings on weight loss. Motivation on weight loss. Nutritional tips. Recipes. Exercise programs. Etc.
You are going to answer people’s questions they post in the group. You are going to like and comment on other people’s posts and comments.
Over time people are going to see you as the fitness guru. The person who can help them on their weight loss journey. They are going to start to follow your personal page and they are going to start to add you as a friend.
Which now brings you back to your personal page.
What to do on Your Personal Page
Accept the friend request of people who look like they would make good prospects and someone you would not mind recruiting into your MLM business.
Send them a message when you accept the friend request. Be normal, do not hit them up about your business, just have a conversation.
Go into your news feed daily and start interacting with your friends. Commenting and liking on their posts. Be a normal human. You are building know, like and trust.
Now start posting on your profile the same way you did in the group, tips and tricks about weight loss, exercise and nutrition. Provide value.
Now in between these sorts of posts sprinkle in what we call lifestyle posts. These are posts where you let people into your life so they get to know you. Posts pictures of you out enjoying life. Out with family, out to dinner, skiing, vacationing, on a beach, hanging out with friends, etc.
Out of 10 posts, do 7 posts of value, do 3 of lifestyle and then for the last post you can do a product post. But not the way most network marketers do…
How to do a Product Post
You want to do what is called a curiosity post. Instead of posting links to your product or opportunity you want to subtly bring it up.
Curiosity kills the cat. It will drive people crazy wanting to know what you are doing. So much so they will actually ask you.
So sticking with the weight loss example…
A curiosity post could be you holding up your company’s product and saying something like “Wish me luck, decided it is time to lose those last 5lbs, starting a new program my friend lost 20lbs on, here we go”.
Now the key here is to not reveal what the product is. Cover up the logo with your hand or put tape over it.
It’s going to drive people crazy trying to figure out what you are going. And they are going to ask you. Do not answer them on their post, instead reply and say “just sent you a message”.
Then send them a direct message and say you saw their comment on their post and ask them if they would like you to send them information on the program. When they say yes, ask them when they will be able to check it out, when they reply send them the information and follow up with them at the time they said they would have checked it out by.
You can do the same thing with your MLM business opportunity. Provide value posts, lifestyle and then 1 curiosity post about your business every 10 posts.
Keep that ratio moving forward. Provide updates on your weight loss or business adventure without saying what it is. Share testimonials of other people having success with both without saying what it is.
People will reach out to you and you can reach out them as well.
Because you have now developed influence with these people when you reach out to them to see if they are open to looking at your business you are going to be surprised at home many will say yes.

Strategy #3 – Attraction Marketing
Last but not least is my all-time favorite MLM recruiting strategy, attraction marketing.
Attraction marketing is similar to the last strategy of the Passive Approach on Facebook and in fact that strategy when you boil it down to its core is actually attraction marketing.
However, what I am referring to with this strategy is using internet marketing techniques such as blogging, video marketing, Instagram and paid methods such as Facebook Business pages instead of your person profile in Facebook.
This method has a steeper learning curve associated with it, but once you get it up and running and create momentum with it, it is a game changer, there is nothing else like it in network marketing.
You literally will have prospects coming to you asking you about your business. How would you like waking up every morning to 5 – 10 messages from prospects wanting to talk to you about your business?
It uses the same concept of building Influence with people. But on a much larger and a more automated scale. All of the top leaders in Network Marketing are using this method.
If you have been on Facebook for even a day you have seen it in action. All of the industry trainers you look up to are using attraction marketing to build their downlines.
It is a strategy I recommend but I do so with this stipulation…
Never spend any more then 30% of your time building using this method. If you are building a team it is important that you use the other methods we talked about as well.
Your team will be watching you and if they perceive that all you do is attraction marketing they will try to duplicate that and your business will slow.
This method is more of a marketing method where the other two are prospecting methods. Marketing and prospecting work well together, but make sure you are spending at least 70% of your time prospecting.
