It’s a stone hard fact that not all MLM leads are created equally. You absolutely need to make sure that you are focusing on MLM Leads That Work and work well; or you will be wasting a ton of time, energy, and money as well as experiencing a pile of frustration.
Take it from me I have been there, done that, I have left no stone unturned while building my MLM business.
The following is just some of the leads I have worked during my time in the direct sales industry:
- Bought and called cold leads
- Cold called realtors
- Cold called people whose business cards I have collected from bulletin boards
- Cold called people from the phone book
- Called leads I generated from trade show giveaways
- Bought and called genealogy lists
- Worked leads I generated through internet marketing
- Worked social media leads
This list could literally go on and on…
When building my Multi-Level Marketing (MLM) or Network Marketing business I am positive that I have worked pretty much every type of lead known to man
So in my personal and very humble opinion that gives me some perspective and experience when it comes to training you on…
So What Are The Best Leads?
Now when it comes right down to it, pretty much every type lead within reason will work if you have enough of them and don’t mind calling large numbers or people.
For example if you don’t mind spending your hard earned money on buying a ton of cold leads from brokers and sitting down to your phone and smiling and dialing every single night for the rest of your career, yes it will work, yes you will find interested people and you will eventually build a profitable downline.
Many people have built successful downlines doing just that. But I can tell you that it is one of the hardest and most painful business building activities you will ever do and I do not recommend it.
The leads that work the best and are the most enjoyable to work are actually ones you generate on your own, through either social media or what is referred to as attraction marketing.
But before you even think about working them you first have to make sure that you work…
Your Warm Market
Yes the people that you know are leads my friend and they are some of the most powerful and profitable you will ever work.
The problem with cold calling prospects is they do not know you. The know, like and trust factor is not there. This is why working them is so hard.
This is why your warm market is so important. These people already know you, and hopefully they like and trust you.
So when you ask them to do you a favor and look at your network marketing opportunity they will.
And getting your prospect to look at your opportunity is your main goal by the way.
Don’t Try to Sell
Your job is not to sell them anything or convince them to join or buy.
Your job is to simply get them to take a look at the opportunity and then you let the company tools do all of the selling, telling and convincing for you.
When you truly grasp what I just said you will understand why your warm market and the warm market of your team members is so important to your success.
They are easy pickings when it comes to getting them to look at an opportunity.
So do not skip this market, learn how to work it correctly and make sure you and everyone on your team do so before moving onto working the cold market..

The Secret to Working The Cold Market
It does not matter what type of cold lead you decide to work, whether it is the 2 I am going to recommend in this training or any other, your main goal is to turn a cold prospect into a warm prospect.
As I discussed earlier the know, like and trust factor is key to your success.
It will be very rare that you ever sign someone up into your business on the day you met them.
You have to develop some rapport with your prospects. There must be somewhat of a relationship.
Now I am not saying you have to become best friends, but they do have to feel like they know you, like you and trust you before they will join you in your business.
That is one of the main reasons I like the following 2 methods so much, the very process involved with prospecting these people actually turns them from cold to warm for you.
By the time you get them to the point of taking a look at your business opportunity they already feel like they know, like and trust you. And that is why they work so well.
OK let’s take a look at these 2 methods…
MLM Leads That Work #1 – Social Media
Sites like Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter and Instagram have made prospecting not only much easier but a heck of a lot more enjoyable and profitable.
I talk about the old days alot in my trainings and how hard it was to build a business back then compared to nowadays.
Back in my day we never had this fancy dancy social media thing, we had to put on our shoes and walk 10 miles to the local chamber of commerce event and actually meet people face to face.
Now I am only 46 so I am exaggerating a bit here, but not by much.
Literally when I first got started in network marketing I had to do that kind of stuff (except for the walking 10 miles).
Myspace hit the scene about 1-2 years after I got started and it blew me away, I saw it’s potential for recruiting and I immediately started focusing my time there.
Nowadays it would be a stupid decision not to be prospecting and recruiting on social media.
Our society pretty much lives the majority of their lives on social media. We get our entertainment there, we socialize there, we do business there, we interact with our families there, etc.
Like it or not it is the way we live our lives now and as a result it is a great opportunity for people in the direct sales industry.
But you have to use it the right way…
Why Most Networkers Fail On Social Media
As great as social media is for building your multi-level marketing business most people are still failing miserably at it.
The reason for this is that they are simply doing it all wrong.
The majority of people jump on social media and turn into living breathing advertisements. They act like walking talking billboards for their company.
- They solicit people.
- They spam people.
- They make goofy spammy posts on their profile.
- They plaster their company links all over the place.
- They harass people and simply annoy people with their business and product.
Doing this will result in you losing friends, failing at your business and most likely getting banned from your social media accounts.
Instead what you must get good at doing is treating social media like it is a party!
Building on Social Media is Like a Party
No joke here. You want to act on social media in the exact same way you would if you were at a party you were invited to.
- You want to dress up a bit and look good
- You would be friendly and meet people
- You would laugh and have fun
- You want to have interesting conversations with people.
- You want to be entertaining, informative and educational.
- You would talk about people’s jobs, hobbies, families, vacations, pets, etc.
- You would be a normal human being, having fun, socializing and getting to know people.
You would not walk into a party and start selling your business and product to everyone. If you did you would not be invited back.
Treat social media like a party and you will make friends, grow your contact list and generate some very warm and targeted prospects for your mlm business.
If you only did what I just explained you would start to see good results, however there is more to it and I have a ton of training on this blog to help you learn this prospecting strategy better.

MLM Leads That Work #2 – Attraction Marketing
You may have heard of Attraction Marketing. It used to be the buzz word a few years back. It was made famous by a guy named Mike Dillard and his book magnetic sponsoring.
Basically it is simply internet marketing for network marketers.
Most internet marketers have a product or service they are marketing and selling online. For network marketers their product is themselves.
They are simply using internet marketing techniques to market themselves and attract people to them who want to work with them and buy their product.
The leads you generate here are highly targeted. So I do recommend this method, but I do so with a very big warning.
Heed My Warning
This method may not be for you, and if you decide that it is for you then it can NOT be the only method you use to build your business.
You must use the warm market method and you must use the social media method.
The reason for this is two fold:
Reason #1 – It Takes A Long Time
Attraction Marketing takes a long time to get any results with. It can take you a couple of years to generate your first lead depending on which internet marketing method you use.
That is a long time and most people will simply not put the time, money, or effort into waiting that long.
Which takes us immediately to reason #2…
Reason #2 – It is Not Duplicatable
Success in your business is as a result of you being able to get a large group of people (your downline) to consistently perform a few simple activities over a long period of time.
If you can do that, your downline is going to grow as will your residual income check.
Attraction Marketing is not a simple activity and the vast majority of your team will not do it and if they try most will fail and your business will not grow.
So you are probably now asking…
Why Should I Do Attraction Marketing Then Robb?
The reason you should use this method if you decide it is something you want to do, is because once you get some traction with it the leads you generate are highly targeted.
They will actually want to know about your business. They will literally contact you wanting to learn more about it.
Plus once they start rolling in you will get to a point that you will be generating more then you will be able to handle on your own. It is not unheard of for people to have 5 – 10 new prospects wanting to talk to them daily!
To put it bluntly it is a game changer!
So the key to your success using this method is to focus the majority of your time on the other methods we discussed. Get good at them. Recruit people with them. Teach them to your team.
Then with the remaining time you have allotted to build your business (20 – 30%) start learning and working on Attraction Marketing.

You should focus your time on the following type of leads:
- Your Warm Market (this must be the foundation of your business)
- Social Media (as long as you treat it like a party)
- Attraction Marketing (but only spend 20 -30% of your time doing it)
Outside of those 3 I would not waste my time with any other method. These 3 combined will provide you with more prospects for your business then you will ever need.
And if you learn them and work them correctly you are going to have a very successful network marketing business on your hands.
