In today’s post we are going to talk about how to rock your network marketing business and absolutely crush it.
Believe it or not achieving success in your network marketing business is not as hard as you might think. Yes it will take work and effort and yes there will be frustrations along the way but if you are truly committed to rocking your business and putting in the time to do so then it truly is hard to fail.
The first thing for you to understand is there are really two different business models in the network marketing industry.
The 1st is the small model which is basically the retail model where you would set up shop and play store selling your companies products to your friends and family.
Which is fine if your goal is to simply make a few hundred dollars per month. A far cry from rocking it, but if that is your goal then awesome and it can be easily achieved.
However, this post is not designed to help you with the small model. What I am going to share with you today is how to crush the second model.
The Big Business Model
Clearly the 2nd model is where the big money is made. This is where the massive residual income checks and life alternating businesses are created.
This model is where the people on the stage at your company events play and focus their time.
Now do not get me wrong, retailing and selling products is still the name of the game. It is the end goal for sure as you definitely need customers to create and maintain a long term profitable business.
But how you go about getting those customers is completely different with this model.
Instead of playing store and selling products here and there to your friends and family; you want to focus on building a large organization of users of your companies products and sharers of your opportunity
Meaning you want people who join your business that will order and use the product monthly and ALSO go out and build the business for themselves by finding more people to use the product and share the opportunity.
I.e. build a massive team AKA downline!
Your Long Term Goal
The long term goal is to have a downline that continues to grow with or without you. That continues to expand exponentially with new product users and people who share the opportunity.
And again achieving this is not as hard as you would think.
The following is the formula for success in your business, write it down and put it somewhere you will see it on a regular basis:
“Success in network marketing is found by getting a large group of people to consistently engage in a few simple activities over a long period of time”
So there are 3 components to that formula:
- Getting people
- Getting them into action
- Getting them to stick around using products and sharing the biz.
We are going to look at all 3 components to the formula in this post and I will point you to other training’s on this blog to help you master each component.
#1 – Getting People (Prospecting & Recruiting)
There is no question that the #1 skill set you want to master is prospecting and recruiting.
It is the skill that pays big dollars!
If you get good to great at sponsoring people you can write your own ticket in this industry.
Learn how to sponsor 3 – 10 people monthly into your business and success is just a matter of time for you.
And here is the great news…
- Recruiting is simple!
- Prospecting is simple!
- Recruiting 3 people per month is simple.
- And recruiting 5 – 10 is very do-able!
Now notice I did not say it was easy. I said it was simple.
It is not easy because it does take work. It does take learning new skills and you will experience rejection and there will be frustrations and setbacks. So no it is not easy.
But it is simple!
What we do when we recruit is simple. The actual prospecting process is simple.
Anyone can get good to great at it if they wish to.
People love to over complicate prospecting, when in fact as I have said it is a simple process.
All we do when we are prospecting is:
- Meet new people
- Build a relationship with them (become friends)
- Ask them if they are “open” to looking at an opportunity
- Share our opportunity via 3rd party tools with those who were open
- Follow up and collecting a decision
That is it. Very very simple.
Notice I did not say anything about having to sell, convince or harass people?
None of those things work.
This business is either for someone or it is not. Your job is simply to find more people and see if the opportunity is for them, not to try and convince or change their mind.
When you truly grasp the 5 steps to recruiting this business becomes so much simpler.
Where to Meet People
Accomplishing the 5 steps I just shared with you is easy nowadays thanks to social media.
Back in the old days before the internet became such a major part of our lives as it has; recruiting was a bit more of a challenge. You actually had to leave your house and get out and meet new people.
But nowadays meeting people, becoming friends with them, asking then if they are open to looking at an opportunity, sharing the opportunity with them and following up can all be done for the comfort of your home by using your computer and phone.
And yup I said the dreaded phone word!
If you truly want to rock your business you need to get comfortable using the phone. Yes you can meet people and build a relationship with them but when it comes to sharing your network marketing business with them you need to make a connection over the phone.
However much of the process can now be done successfully on your computer.

Components 2 & 3 of The Formula
Alright we are going to look at components 2 & 3 of the formula together because in the end these 2 components are both part of what is referred to as Team Building.
When it comes to making it big time in this industry there really are only two skills sets you need to learn. Recruiting which we just covered and Team Building.
It is one thing to be able to recruit people into your business but it is a whole other skill to be able to have those new recruits duplicate and grow into a thriving downline.
You will notice I used the term “duplicate”. There is another similar term that seems to only ever be used in network marketing and MLM which is “Duplicatable”.
You may have heard that you want to create duplication in your organization. This is achieved by keeping all of your business building activities duplicatable.
Duplication is when you create systems and business building methods that allow anyone to be able to implement them and see success thus creating growth in your business. I.e. they are duplicatable.
In order to have a team that grows the person with the least amount of skills on your team must be able to see success.
When you are looking at business building methods to use it is important not to ask whether they will work, but whether they will duplicate.
Running an ad on a billboard in times square New York city may “work” to bring in new distributors but it will not duplicate.
Meaning you may be able to afford a bill board but your team members you recruit will not be able to. Which means this business building method does not duplicate and is a waste of time and money.
Why is it a waste?
Because whatever method you use to recruit someone that is the method they will think they need to do.
And it makes no difference what you tell them, they will not believe you. If you recruit them by running a billboard ad it makes no difference if you tell them they should use social media to recruit. They are going to think you are just hiding something from them and that the real secret is to buy billboard advertising.
And clearly not many people will be able to afford to buy billboard advertising so your downline will simply not grow.
This is why I recommend you use social media and what I train on in my Free Prospecting Boot Camp. It works AND it is duplicatable. Everyone on your team will be able to do it successfully.
