Step #1: Really Understand What Network Marketing Is
Network marketing is a model a person can choose to use to create a successful business of their own, just like franchising, internet marketing or starting a traditional business from scratch.
Sales are made via person to person and commissions are paid from each sale.
Often referred to as relationship marketing. Sales are made based on the relationships people have with others. Serious success is created by developing a team of fellow business builders who use the product themselves and promote it to other people as well.
Commissions are paid based on the sale of the product and service through many levels of your business organization.
Network marketing goes by many names, MLM, Multi-Level Marketing, Relationship Marketing and direct sales are some of the most commonly used names.

Step #2: How Does Network Marketing Actually Work?
As you just read sales are made via person to person.
What that means exactly is you as the network marketer can approach people by either asking them to take a look at the products associated with the company you are with or business opportunity.
If they order a product or sign up to become a distributor for the company you earn a commission.
If they become a distributor like you, when they make a sale they earn a commission but so do you as the person who sponsored them into the business.
This goes on for many levels deep into your organization and is why this business is sometimes referred to as Multi-Level Marketing; you get paid commissions on sales made by people throughout the multi levels of your organization.
A quick tip for you. If you want to build a large income you will want to focus on sharing your business opportunity with people vs focusing on just selling the product.
The reason for this is the large incomes are created off of the sales made by many people in your organization. You get paid a small commission off of the efforts of many. Which adds up to a large pay day for you.
If you only focus on selling products to people you know, then you will not build a team or organization and your income will always be dependent on how much product you can personally sell monthly.

Step #3: Make The Decision
Here is where many people who become involved in this industry get into trouble.
They don’t make the rock solid decision that they are going to do this business. Instead they join because a friend or family member convinced them to and they figure what the heck let’s give it a try.
Giving it a try never works. Giving it a try results in failure 99.99% of the time.
Giving it a try means that you will not put the time and effort into doing what is required. It means you will quit at the first sign of rejection or adversity.
You would not spend your life saving on buying a franchise or starting a business from scratch and simply say I am just going to give it a try. No you would be all in.
You would be 100% committed to the process. You would learn all of the skills required to be a success and you would do everything in your power to become successful.
Network marketing absolutely requires the same level of commitment.
The people who make it are the ones who treat it like a real business and go to work making sure they are successful.

Step #4: Pick The Right MLM Company
Once you make the rock solid decision that you are going to build a network marketing business the next step is to pick the right company.
The product the company sells is an important part of making this decision. Clearly you must at the very least enjoy or like the product. You do not have to love it but you do need to at least like it and be prepared to become a customer of it and use it yourself.
It is very hard to recommend a product that you yourself are not using.
Now I am going to say something here that makes some people in the industry get cranky at me, which is fine with me because I am a straight shooter and will tell you the truth whether it upsets people or not.
The product is actually not that important!!
Now don’t get me wrong, the product is important, but not “that” important.
The most important part of the equation is the opportunity itself. Which includes the age of the company, the compensation plan (how you get paid) and the team you are going to join and go to work with.
You could join a company that has the best product in the world, but if the company is terrible to work with; if the way they pay you is not good and the team you are joining has no clue how to build the business you are in big trouble.

Step #5: Get Trained
You are on the right path just by simply reading this “how to network marketing guide”.
It is imperative to your success that you get trained. That you learn exactly how a successful MLM organization is built.
This business model is 100% unique to itself. There is no other business model like it and as such the skills that you need to be successful are skills you would not use in any other industry. They are unique to MLM.
Many people join a company and then run around like clowns, having no idea what the heck they are supposed to do and they completely blow their chances at success.
This is also why it is important that you join the right company and the right team. You want to be associated with people who will invest in your success. That will train you and show you how to become successful.

Step #6: Understand The Recruiting Process
It is crucial to your future success that you understand very clearly that success in network marketing is learning how to recruit new distributors into your downline.
This is the foundation of what we do in this industry. We recruit new people into the business.
We are professional recruiters. You will be recruiting your entire career in network marketing. It does not matter how much you are earning you will still need to be recruiting if you want to stay in business.
Now here is the great news. Recruiting is a simple activity. What we do daily to find people interested in joining our opportunity is not difficult at all, it is very straight forward.
In fact, it was not only designed to be simple, your success is contingent on it being simple.
Your success will be as a result of your ability to get the other people on your team recruiting new distributors. Everyone must have the ability to be able to do this successfully.
So the activities involved are very simple.
I realize that most people think that recruiting people is the hard part of the business. They love to over complicate it.
The fact is that if you have been in the business for any amount of time and find recruiting new distributors to be difficult you have been taught how to do it wrong.
If you are looking at network marketing as a business opportunity that you are thinking of joining, but have concerns recruiting people will be difficult, let me put your mind at ease.
If you learn how to do it correctly it is a very simple process and activity. Anyone who wants to can learn how to do it successfully.
But the key is to take the time to learn the right way of doing it. Recruiting is a skill set and one that you must learn. So be fair to yourself and allow yourself the opportunity and time to learn this new skill set.

Step #7: Work With Your Team
Learning how to get good to great at recruiting is the most important skill set to learn; however team building is also a skill set you need to learn and a close second in importance to recruiting.
You must become a good leader to your team. Without a team that grows you will never create a successful business.
There are a whole hosts of concepts involved with team building to include:
Working with people where they are at, this involves letting them create their own goals. You may want to create a 6 figure income but perhaps your new recruit would be happy with an extra $1,000 per month.
You have to let them be who they are. If you try to force your goals on them you will chase them away.
Knowing what people to work with on an individual basis and what people to work with in a group setting.
As your downline grows the future leaders and top earners will start to show themselves. You want to latch onto them and work with them individually.
You need to be focusing most of your time recruiting which means you have limited time available to you to work with your time. Work with the leaders one on one and work with the rest of the team in group settings such as weekly training calls, Facebook groups and quarterly in person training events, etc.
Learning how to build culture within your team is a huge skill set to learn.
You want people to feel a part of a team. When people feel a part of something they stick around. Part of your culture will be training people on how to build your business as well.
