In today’s post we are going to look at how to make money in network marketing online.
Unlike building a business offline there are actually two ways you can make money online in the network marketing industry.
First there is the traditional way of building your downline. Recruiting new team members and earning all of the bonuses and commissions associated with having a large and profitable team.
And secondly if done correctly you can add additional income streams by using a strategy called Attraction Marketing.
In today’s post I will explain how both of these strategies work, how you can use them to start making more money and I will also provide you with links to further training on each of them so you can start including them in your business building activities.
How to Use the Internet to Build a Large Downline
So the first way that you can make money online with your business is by using it to build yourself a large downline.
The internet has revolutionized the network marketing industry. It has evened the playing field and has made it so that anyone with desire and determination can become successful.
Making a lot of money in your business is simply a matter of being able to get good at recruiting new distributors. If you learn the skill set of recruiting you will build a very profitable team.
But offline recruiting is hard. Depending on friends and family to join your business is risky.
If they don’t join than you have no business.
And even if someone is successful in getting their friends and family to join eventually they run out of them and then they have the real challenge of trying to figure out how to meet and recruit more people.
And offline your options for doing so are very limited…
Online is a Different Story
Yes you should absolutely still approach your friends and family and there are a whole host of reasons why this is crucial to your success that I cover HERE.
However, once you have done that and it is time to locate more prospects doing so online is a game changer.
There are people everywhere and learning how to successfully recruit them onto your team is not difficult.
There are two ways I recommend you do so. Prospecting and marketing. Both are very effective strategies that you should focus on.
I am going to quickly explain what each of these are, exactly how they work and I will also give you some links to other blog posts where you can learn how start using these strategies today.

Prospecting Online Made Easy
Prospecting is when you are actively reaching out meeting people and approaching them to see if they are open to taking a look at your opportunity.
Social media platforms like Facebook, LinkedIn and Instagram are amazing for this. In the old days when you had to focus your efforts offline it was not an easy thing to get out and meet new people.
Social media has changed that. It is a very simple process to be able to go out and meet 10, 20 and even 50 people every single day.
It is a very simple process to ask 20 people daily if they are open to taking a look at your network marketing business.
There is no excuse for never having people to share your opportunity with. Online people are everywhere.
Yes of course you need to know what you are doing.
Yes of course there is a right way and a wrong way to go about this.
And yes of course most networkers are doing it all wrong and failing at it miserably. Here is why…
Why Most Network Marketers Fail on Social Media
The majority of people on sites like Facebook are failing because they are doing one of the following or all of them:
1) They are plastering links to their business opportunity everywhere. On their own page, on their friends pages and in groups. This is spam and it does not work and makes the industry look terrible. Nobody likes spam and if you are doing it you are repelling people.
2) They are contacting complete strangers and messaging them with copy and paste messages. They are using the same messages that everyone else is using. People are tired of these messages, they either ignore them or even worse report you to Facebook.
3) They are making stupid posts like “I have room to help 4 more people to help make an extra $1000 this month”.
Don’t do this. It is ridiculous and everyone sees through it. Oh really you are so busy that you only have room to help 4 more people??
Everyone knows you are full of it if you are doing that. Everyone knows you would take 40 more people if you could and that you are not even getting 1 person to respond let alone 4.
All of these tactics are either played out, spam or never worked. Don’t do use them!

Make Money in Network Marketing Online by Building Influence
Having influence is the secret to success in this industry.
When you have influence people listen to you, they respect you, they look up to you, admire you and value your opinion. And most importantly when you ask them to look at your business they do!!
People who have influence are the ones who join your opportunity and immediately shoot to the top of the leader boards.
They are the people who join and have overnight success. They are able to enroll lots of new distributors in a very short period of time.
Offline it takes years to build this kind of influence over a large group of people.
Online and with social media you can learn how to create this in a very short period of time. Within a day or two of applying this strategy you can start to develop influence with people and have them start to know, like and trust you.
This is a powerful strategy that you and everyone on your team can use.

How to put the Marketing back into Network Marketing
Marketing is more passive than prospecting.
Marketing is where you are creating pieces of content online in hopes that someone in the future will find them and want to learn more about you, your business and product.
Examples of pieces of content could be a blog post, a Facebook live video, a YouTube video, etc.
Marketing does take time to get traction and generate leads but once it does will start to get so many leads coming in you will not need to actively prospect as much as you will have more people to share your opportunity with than you can handle on your own.
In network marketing we refer to marketing as attraction marketing. It uses the same concept of building influence as the last strategy we covered except it takes it to a whole new level.
You will pick a target market to build a brand around. You could build a brand as the expert in weight loss. You would then start creating content around the topic if weight loss and become known as the weight loss expert.
Then when you recommend your company’s nutrition products people are going to buy them because you are the expert in their mind. You have influence.
You could do the same thing with your business opportunity. Set yourself up as the home based business expert. Teach people who to be successful in a home based business. And over time they will decide for themselves that the best option for them to create a successful business is to work with you in your network marketing company.
It is an incredibly powerful strategy. It does take time to get momentum with it so you should also be prospecting daily. But once the momentum hits it is a game changer and makes prospecting an easy thing.
Plus as I mentioned at the outset of this post with attraction marketing you can add additional income streams to it.
So now you are not just making money from people joining your network marketing business but you are also making money by recommending additional products to your followers and subscribers.
How to Make Money from Additional Income Streams
What happens here is because people look up to you any time you recommend a product or service there will be people who purchase it.
If you create your own product such as a course on how to recruit on social media, people are going to purchase it.
You could also recommend affiliate products and make a commission from them when people buy the product. Recommend a good personal development book from amazon and you will get a commission.
These additional income streams add up quickly. And in many cases will surpass the income you will make from building a downline.
Think of some of the top leaders in this industry. Guys like Eric Worre and Ray Higdon, they made so much money from their additional income streams that they completely stopped building a network marketing business.
It’s a very cool strategy. Again it does take time to build but it is worth dedicating 20 – 30% of the time you have allotted to building your business to it.
