Congrats on either just joining this awesome industry or starting with a new company. Either way learning How to Launch Your Network Marketing Business the right way is a major step towards ensuring you’re successful in your new venture.
I am a huge advocate for launching your business the right way, the reason for this is when I started in network marketing (MLM) I was taught how to launch my business correctly and as a result I had great success right out of the gates. You can read about my story here.
What I am going to share with you in today’s post I learned directly from two of the giants of MLM; Mr. Eric Worre & Mr. Randy Gage. Both of whom I had the privilege of working with very closely when starting out and as a result was trained how to build the business the right way.
Step #1: Understand What You Have
Far too many people come into this business and really do not understand the opportunity they have in front of them.
In most times this is of no fault of their own but rather how they were recruited into the business.
There is a funny thing about our business, most people do not go looking for the opportunity they end up with, but instead it finds them. A friend or family members gets them to watch a presentation and in many cases convinces them to join the business.
Whereas with most other business opportunities the would be business person goes looking for the opportunity. Seeks it out and does research on it so they understand fully the opportunity they have in front of them.
I truly believe that if more people understood the powerful business model they are now a part of and what is required to make it successful that the success rate would be much higher.
Treat it Like a Business and it Will Pay You Like a Business Will
The opposite of this is also true. Treat it like a hobby and it will pay you like a hobby would.
Most people join and simply just “try” it. They give it a go and hope for the best.
They talk to a few friends and family and when they get rejected they quit.
Some may even be a bit more serious. They might attend the weekly team training call and make a few calls here and there, but they are not 100% committed. They start and stop. They work 30 minutes here and there. And of course see no success either.
The Truth of the Matter
The truth is you now own an incredibly powerful business. A business that can revolutionize your life like not many other opportunities can.
But… in order for the life changing results to occur you MUST put in the work. You must put in the time. You must learn new skills. You must realize it is going to take time and effort and that it is not get rich quick.
You are going to get lots of rejection, many people will tell you they are not interested. It is simply part of the process and just the way it is.
If you commit to doing what is required until you are a success no matter what then you will become one.
If you can work 2 – 3 hours 5 days a week learning the skills you require to become a success and get to work putting what you learn into action then you will become a success. It will happen, but if you don’t then it will not.
So step #1 is understand what you really have with this opportunity and then make the decision you are either going to go after it with everything you have or you are not.

Step #2 – Launch Your Business with a Bang
In the same way that a rocket ship when it takes off uses most of its energy to get off the ground; you want to do the same thing with your biz.
Go hard right out of the gates.
Trust me network marketing is so much easier to build fast then it is slow.
You want to get serious momentum happening right away. You want to fill your funnel with as many prospects as possible right away so that you start to earn some money and start to develop a team that also goes to work building you a larger downline.
Don’t fall for the trap that you can build slowly and by doing so consistently achieve success. It never works that way.
People that say they are just going to talk to 2 people a day every day rarely if ever make it in this biz.
The reason for this is that you are going to get a ton of rejection, everyone does. And that is great, it is how the business works. You sort through the many to find the few who want to build.
However you want to find the few quickly…
If you take your time it could be a long time before you see any success at all. If it takes you speaking to 30 people to sponsor 1 person and you only talk to 2 a day that is 15 days before you sponsor your first person.
That is hard on the head for many people and most will simply quit.
You want to get through those 30 people fast.
When I first started I went through over 200 people in my first 5 days in the business. I blasted through them. I weeded out the people not interested and I found the people who wanted to lock arms with me and do some great things. And we did.
So go fast starting out…
After your initial blast you can settle down into sharing your business with less people daily. However even then I would recommend at the very least prospecting 3 – 5 people daily.
The People That You Know
Alright so the first thing you want to do is get a note book. This is going to become your ever expanding contacts list.
You want to start writing the names of every person you know or ever knew into the note book.
The bigger your starting list the better. Like I said I started with over 200 people. You want at min 100 people to start with.
This is called your warm market and is how every successful network marketing business is built.
We start by sharing the opportunity with the people we know and then we go out and meet new people to share the business with. (simple).
So to start with getting the names of everyone you know down in your note book. Go through your social media account. Look at the contacts in your email and phone.
Get out your old high school and college/university year books.
Take out the phone book and scroll to the yellow pages and start at “A”. Who do you know that is an accountant, banker, barber, car sales man, doctor, electrician, farmer, etc.
Do not prejudge anyone. You never know who is going to be interested and who will crush it.
Locate Their Contact Information
Next start locating the phone numbers of everyone on your list.
Get use to the fact that you will be using a phone. It is a very important tool when it comes to sponsoring people.
Do not try and convince yourself that you can simply message or email people online and they will join. You will get a much higher percentage of people who say yes to your opportunity if you connect with them on the telephone.
And as you will see when you use the phone the right way it is not hard or scary, it’s a very straight forward and simple.
The best way to collect people’s phone number is to simply ask them for it. Message them on social media and simply ask. Don’t beat around the bush trying to catch up with them etc.
Simply say “Hey so&so;” what’s your phone number?
Some will ask what for and we will get to them later, just focus on the people who you have numbers for and who give them to you.
Smile & Dial
Now it is time to blast through the list.
You want to sort through your list and find out who is ready for your opportunity as quick as possible.
The big thing to remember is that you are not selling or trying to convince people.
Network marketing is a sharing business. You are simply seeing who is open to looking at your opportunity and sharing your presentation tools with them, then following up to collect their decision.
That is all we do in this business.
It goes something like this:
“Hey so&so; I recently got involved with an internet business and to be very upfront I just wanted to touch base with you to see if you would be open to taking a look at it for me. If so I can message you some information.”
That’s it, don’t try and elaborate, just keep it simple.
Most people will be open.
Some will ask you what it is. Do not fall into the trap of trying to explain it to them.
Just say something like:
“Well it’s an internet business (health and wellness, weight loss, etc), but I am new to it and would do a terrible job of explaining it, if you are open to taking a look I will send you the short 5 min video that will do a much better job of explaining it than I would”.
How to Handle the “What For People”
OK remember the people who asked you why you wanted their phone number?
Now you can go back to them and say pretty much the same thing you did to the people on the phone:
“I actually just got involved with an internet business and wanted to touch base with you to see if you would be open to taking a look at it for me? It may or may not be for you, if you are open I can send you some information to take a look at, if not no problem, let me know?”
Follow Up Follow Up
The fortune is in the follow up.
It blows my mind how people will do all of the work of prospecting, messaging people, calling them and sending them the information but then never follow up with them to see if they want to get started.
After someone has said yes they are open to looking at your opportunity ask them when they will be able to look at it.
Whatever day and time they give you, say perfect I will give you a call then to see what you think.
Then book that time in your calendar and make sure you call them back.

Step #3 – Keep Meeting New People
Again all we do to create success in this business is simply meet people, build some rapport with them, ask them if they are open to looking at an opportunity and follow up with them and collect their decision.
So it is a smart plan to get out there and start meeting new people as you are working through your existing warm list.
