Today we are going to look at “how to become a network marketer”. But not just any networker, as anyone can join a company and many do, the key to your success is learning how to become a professional networker.
In this post I am going to give you the exact step by step plan to do just that as well point you to additional resources on this site to help you along in your journey.
First off let me congratulate you on taking this journey; when it comes to creating a tremendous lifestyle there simply is no better opportunity available for the everyday person to be able to invest such a small amount of money and to be able to create the tremendous income you can in this industry.
But it is not just the income you can earn that makes this business so great.
The time freedom you can create in this industry is second to none. Having the ability to be able to enjoy your life and do what you want when you want is in my opinion the best part.
Also, the personal development that goes hand in hand with networking will become a game changer in regard to the person you will become.
In order to become a success here you have to become a success minded person and this industry provides all of the tools to do that. Many people are transformed from negative unfilled people with no energy to positive minded, completely fulfilled high-energy lovers of life.
So let’s get into it…
Step #1 – Make the Decision
The first step is to make the actual decision that this is the business you want to build.
One of the problems with this industry is actually its low price point of entry. For a couple of hundred dollars in many cases you can be in business.
The problem with this is that people end up treating it like a $200 business instead of the 6 & 7 figure business it can become.
If you want to make it in network marketing you have to make the rock solid decision that you are going to treat this like a business and give it the time, energy and commitment it requires.
It is a part-time business no question. But you have to put those part-time hours in on a consistent basis. It will take you 12 – 15 hours per week of work.
If you can not commit to that then save your money as business is not for you.
But if you can make that commitment then great things are in store for you and you have my permission to move onto the next step…
Step #2 – Choose Your Company
This is actually a very big decision to make. Most people who become network marketers do so because a friend or family member got them to sign up into their opportunity. And don’t get me wrong, that is great and it really is how the business is built.
However since you are researching this topic you are in a unique position to actually research the different companies out there and chose the one that is best for you before joining.
Not all companies are created equal. Some are great, some are good, some are OK , some are bad and some are flat out scams.
You really need to know what to look for and find a company that will be a perfect fit for you both from the opportunity stand point as well as the product stand point.

Step #3 – Get Trained
This would seem like a straightforward comment to make but it would blow your mind how many people join an opportunity and then just go running around like clowns with no idea what they are doing trying to build their business.
Again this comes down to the low price point of getting involved being a problem.
If you spent 500k on a franchise, you can bet your bottom dollar you would go to the training events that the franchise puts on for you. Of course, you would. You just spent big bucks and you need to learn how to build the business in order to reap the rewards.
With most franchise opportunities people are lucky to net 50k profit per year. As a network marketer, you have the very real opportunity to earn that much per month.
So why in the heck would you not go out and get trained. Go out and learn from the people who have made it to the top. See exactly how they did it so you can do the exact same thing.
Blogs like this are a great place to learn as is the training from the leaders in the company you join.
Most leaders (top earners) for companies have team training to get new people trained and up and running.
Take this very seriously, I have seen many people completely ruin their chances of getting off to a fast start by running out trying to sign people up prior to being trained and as a result blow it big time.
Step #4 – Understand it’s a Numbers Game
One of the great things about this business is its simplicity.
If you are on the right team on the right company they are going to teach you that all we do in this business is:
- Meet new people
- Develop some rapport with them (relationship)
- Ask them if they are open to looking at an opportunity
- If they are open we provide them with company tools that do all of the selling and telling for us (called 3rd party tools).
- Collect their decision, is it for them or not?
- For those who it is for, get them started right by getting trained and then doing what I just explained.
- Rinse & Repeat
That is all!
So when you understand how simple this business is, it will dawn on you that all you have to do is get good at playing the numbers.
The more people that you put through this process the more people are going to join you in your business opportunity.
The more people you put in the top of the funnel the more people are going to come out the bottom.
It really is as simple as that.
You want to work the numbers and get good at meeting people and taking them through the above process.

Step #5 – Embrace the Internet
Unfortunately there are a bunch of old fashion people in this industry that are dead against distributors using the internet to build their business.
I know, I know it is mind blowing level stupid, but it is unfortunately true.
The first thing you need to make sure of when you join a company is that they not only allow their distributors to use the internet but they embrace it and encourage it.
Once you find a company that does embrace online building, go to work at getting good at it.
Social media is a game changer for networkers. Back in the old days in order to meet new people you literally had to leave your house and go meet people in your community.
Of course, you should look to meet people when you are living your life, but nowadays you can spend 60 minutes on social media and if you do it the right way you can easily meet 10 – 20 new people in those 60 minutes.
Now notice I said if you do it the right way, because the fact is the majority of the people out there are doing it all wrong. To put it bluntly they are spammers. They are annoying the heck out of people and as a result they are failing.
But if you learn how to use social media correctly you will become a recruiting machine.
