Alight let’s get right into today’s training. Today we are going to look at my top “6 Direct Sales Tips”. If you understand these tips and apply them to your business in my personal opinion there is no way you can fail in direct sales unless you quit…
Success takes time regardless of anything you are pursuing or attempting to achieve. Which leads directly into the first tip.
Tip #1 – Get Your Head Right
Any time I sponsor a new distributor into my organization I always have a “get your head right” conversation with them. I even recommend having a get started call for all new distributors on this same topic.
During this call, I explain exactly what they have in front of them.
Too many people join direct sales or network marketing and have a misconception about what it is.
Many people come in because they think it will be easy, or that they can get-rich-quick, or that they can simply work a bit here and there on their business and earn big bucks.
Unfortunately, that is not how it works.
Nothing worthwhile in life is easy. Everything worthwhile takes time, energy, effort and work.
This industry is no different.
If you want to have success, you are going to have to put in the time and effort that it takes to achieve the success.
People want the big lavish lifestyle but are not willing to do what is required to achieve it. You can’t earn 6, 7 & 8 figure incomes by putting in a 4 & 5 figure income effort.
People will work 8 hours a day, 5 days a week for 40 years of their life to earn 30 – 60 k a year or less but won’t commit to working 2 – 4 years part-time to earn 6 – 8 figure incomes. Its mind blowing but it is reality.
And that is the reality of this business…
What you have is an opportunity of a lifetime. You have in front of you one of the best business models known to man.
You have a method to completely revolutionize your life and your family’s lives forever.
You can create a serious income and an incredible lifestyle by committing to working your business for 4 years on a part-time basis.
By committing to spending 12 – 15 hours weekly actually, working your business great things will happen for you.
Yes you are going to have ups and downs and frustrations, it is simply part of the deal. Yes you are going to have people tell you “no” and you are going to have people who quit on you, it is part of the deal.
Yes you are going to have to learn new skill sets, but they are not hard skill sets. Anyone can learn them and anyone who puts their mind to sticking around and figuring out how to build a direct sales business will become successful.
If others can do it, so can you. The choice really is yours and how bad you want it.
Tip #2 – Get Trained
So the first thing you need to do once you have gotten your head right and made the commitment to become a success in your business is get yourself trained.
Do not think you know how to build a network marketing business, if you have never built one you do not have a clue how to do so.
This industry is completely different from any other industry. The skills you acquired in your life prior to joining your opportunity may help you in some cases but I can promise you they are not enough to allow you to do well here.
There is a saying that you hear a ton in this industry and it is “Be Coachable”.
Don’t be a know it all.
If you spent $500k on buying a franchise there is no question you would go get trained by the company and you would learn everything you need to be successful.
You need to have the same mindset here. Get trained!
There is a great chance the company and team you are with has training on how to be successful.
Learn from those who have done it.

Tip #3 – Numbers Game
Becoming a success in this business is an absolute and total numbers game. When I realized that, I got very very excited.
Your job is to simply get as many people as you can on a continuous basis to look at your opportunity or product. The more people who see it the more people will buy or join.
You could be the most skilled network marketer in the world who recruits 3 people out of every 10 who look at it. And I maybe not so skilled and can only get 2 people out of 10 to join.
If I show 20 people the opportunity and you show 10, I will beat you! I will have recruited 4 while you only recruited 3. I win!
Keep your funnel filled with prospects and you are going to have people join and buy. It is as simple as that.
So your main job in your business is not sales but rather…
Tip #4 – Get Good at Making Friends and Inviting
We do not sell in this business. What we do is make friends and simply ask those friends if they are open to looking at our opportunity or product.
If they are not, great now you know it is not for them and they saved you a ton of time wondering if it was.
If it is for them, perfect you will provide them with a 3rd
party tool that will do all of the selling and telling about your opportunity and product for you. (we look at 3rd
party tools more in the next tip).
Success in direct sales is a numbers game and to keep the numbers coming you need to just get out and make friends. Meet new people on a regular basis.
Now back in the old days before the internet this was a real challenge. My goal used to be to get out in the world and meet at least 2 people daily. Not an easy task offline.
However, thanks to the internet and social media meeting 2 people can be done in as little as 2 minutes. Your goal online should be to meet at least 10 – 20 people daily.
And yes there is a right way and a wrong way to go about this. A hard way and an easy way and yes you need to get trained and skilled at this, but it is not a hard thing to learn you just need to learn it.

Now let’s take a look at 3rd party tools…
Tip #5 – Point to 3rd Party Tools
As I said this is not a sales business. Whatever you do, do NOT try to sell or convince your prospect to join your organization.
One of the big components to your success in your direct sales organization is a thing called duplication.
It means what you do your team members are going to do or try to do. This is why you must keep the activities simple. The activities you do must be simple enough that the person with the least amount of skills on your team is able to perform them.
If not your business will not grow because in order to create the true wealth in this business your team needs to grow. Your team members need to be able to have success and help you build your organization along with theirs.
This is accomplished with the use of 3rd Party Tools that share the business opportunity with your prospects.
A 3rd party tool could be a website, conference call, webinar, hotel meeting, etc.
Anything that shares the opportunity and product with your prospect besides you.
All you want to do is simply ask your prospect if they are open to taking a look at the business and then simply point them to a tool that will do the work for you.
Then follow up with them and collect their decision.
If it is not for them great, move on, it’s a numbers game.
If it is for them super-duper sign them up.
If they need more information do not get trapped trying to answer their questions for them, simply provide them with another 3rd
party tool that will answer their question.
Tip #6 – Rinse and Repeat
And there you have it my friends that is how you become a raging success in your direct sales business.
Just do this over and over again and teach your team to do the same thing.
