Alright gang today I am going to give you what I call my top 5 Network Marketing for Beginners Tips! Now in reality these tips are not just for beginners but for anyone who has been struggling to build their network marketing business and is ready to get serious and start crushing it.
I can virtually guarantee that if you take these 5 tips to heart and start implementing them into your business building plan you are going to start seeing success; you are going to start getting traction in your business and within 6 – 18 months everything will look completely different in your business then it does now…
Alright let’s jump right into the first one.
Tip #1 – Get Your Head Right
This is such an important factor in your success. You see what happens is that most people come into this business and either think it is get rich quick or think that they can treat it like a hobby and it will pay them a fortune.
Neither of which is true.
It is not get rich quick, but it is get wealthy faster than any other business opportunity available to every day normal people.
You cannot treat it like a hobby that you work on from time to time when you feel like it and expect to earn a six figure income. But you can create that type of success with 2 -3 hours of work per day in the next 6 – 18 months.
You see people’s heads are all wrong about network marketing. They do not realize what they truly have in front of them with their business.
The fact is that network marketing is a very exciting, real and potentially lucrative business opportunity that can allow complete beginners to create extraordinary success and completely change their lifestyle.
But just like anything worthwhile in life it is going to take:
- Hard work
- Learning new skill sets
- And a never quit attitude.
Success in this business is not just going to be given to you. You have to work for it and you have to be ready to deal with the ups and downs, the frustrations and the joys. It is all part of the deal.
You have to put the time in. You have to treat it like the business that it is.
And if you can do that and if you have the inner fortitude to go after it with everything you’ve got, then in a relatively short period of time; 6 – 18 months great things can happen for you.
But if you treat it like a hobby, if you expect to get rich by simply sponsoring a couple of friends and your grandmother you are in for a rude awakening and a terrible experience.
Treat it like a business and it will pay you like a highly successful and profitable business pays its dedicated owner.
Tip #2 – OD on PD
Out of all of my top 5 network marketing for beginners tips this is the one that for some reason people tend to neglect.
OD on PD means over dose on personal development. Do not neglect this. I can virtually guarantee you that if you are struggling in your business it is because you are not engaged in daily personal development.
You have to work on yourself. You have to work on your attitude, your mind, your energy, your motivation.
On your way to success in network marketing you are going to have lots of ups and downs, you are going to have frustrations and setbacks. It is just the way it is.
The only thing that is going to keep you moving forward is your rock solid decision to never quit combined with finding ways daily to keep yourself motivated and inspired.
This is where daily personal development comes in to play.
Every leader in this industry is a huge advocate and is dedicated to a daily regime of personal development. Success leaves clues. And that should be a clue for you. If leaders are doing this then you should be too. Period end of story so just do it.
Personal development would include:
- Reading 30 minutes of a motivational book in the morning
- Watching a YouTube motivational video
- Reading or watching network marketing training like this blog and newsletter daily.
- Turning your radio off while driving and instead listening to a network marketing training or motivational podcast or mp3.
- Before going to sleep at night reading at least 10 minutes of a personal development book
Do these things my friend and I promise you that you will not quit. I promise you that your energy levels will be high. I assure you that you will be motivated to keep on keeping on no matter what.
Tip #3 – Get Connected
There is nothing more powerful than a group of people with the same goals working together.
Get connected with your upline and your team. Become involved with all of the trainings and events.
If your team has a weekly training call be on it.
If your team has a Facebook group designed for the team to engage with each other and learn how to build the business be on it and interact with the other team members.
If your team has weekly or monthly local training events I encourage you to attend them.
Every company and most teams have quarterly live weekend training events. I encourage you to do whatever it takes to attend them, they will revolutionize your business.
The reason for all of this is to keep you focused, to keep you motivated and to keep you on track.
Being around other people who are building the same business will keep your head right, you will learn the skills required to build the business and you will hear the stories of how other people are being a success.
Do not try and go at building your business on your own. Embrace being part of the team.
Tip #4 – Harness the Magic of 3rd Party Tools
One of the top strategies for building your business that you need to learn and implement immediately is using 3rd party tools to present your opportunity.
There is a word used in this industry called Duplication. Duplication is what grows a downline and builds your team.
Duplication is what happens when your team learns how to build this business and goes out and does it without you being involved in the process.
You cannot build this business on your own, you need a team who is prospecting and recruiting and growing their own team.
You cannot recruit enough people on your own to make it to the top of the compensation plan. You need a team building and growing as well.
This is accomplished by using business building methods that anyone on your team can successfully use.
And the most important factor of any business building method used by yourself and your team is the use of 3rd party tools for recruiting.
A 3rd party tool is anything that presents the opportunity to your prospect except you.
It could be a:
- Facebook group
- Live business presentation at a hotel
- Three way call with your upline
- Group chat with upline
It is crucial that when sharing the opportunity with a prospect you point them to a 3rd party tool.
It is imperative that you allow a 3rd party tool to answer any of your prospects questions.
Do not be tempted to present or sell the opportunity to your prospect; that is a mistake beginners make. Do not be tempted to answer your prospects questions.
Let the 3rd Party Tools Do It All
The reason for this is everything you are doing to share your network marketing business with your prospect they are watching. They are taking note of everything you are doing.
And guess what they are thinking?
“I have to do exactly what Robb is doing if I am going to be successful”.
And if you are selling, telling or presenting guess what? Your prospect is not going to want to do that and they are not going to join.
If you are begging or convincing them to join they are going to think they have to do that also and are not going to join.
But if you are simply asking if they are open to looking at your opportunity and then simply directing them to a 3rd party tool to get all of the information they are going to see how simple building the business is and come to the realization that they too can build it.
This is a huge deal my friend!
The other reason to use 3rd party tools is because of the varying skill levels of people on your team. Some might be good at selling and others not so much.
3rd party tools allow anyone regardless of their skill set to be able to have success.
Anyone can ask a prospect if they are open to looking at an opportunity and then direct them to a 3rd party tool. An 8 year old has the skill set to do that.
3rd party tools are how large and profitable downlines are built my friend. Use them!
Tip #5 – Learn the Skill Set of Recruiting
Network marketing is a recruiting business. That is what we do.
It does not matter if you are making $50k per month or $500; if you are not sponsoring new reps into your business on a monthly basis your business will be going backwards.
And here is the good news, becoming good at recruiting is a skill set anyone can learn and get good enough at to become very successful.
Success in this business is a very straight forward process that requires that you simply go out and meet people, get to know them (develop rapport) and when some rapport has been built simply ask them if they are open to looking at your opportunity and if so share a 3rd party tool with them.
That is it.
We do this over and over again. It’s simple but yes it takes work and yes it takes learning some skills.
When I first realized that in order to become a success in my network marketing business I had to learn the skill set of recruiting I got very excited.
All I had to do was learn 1 more skill set and I could realize all of my dreams. Just 1 more skill set.
Think about all of the skills you have learned over the course of your life. Everything you do requires a skill of some sort. The skill sets you have learned are literally countless. And all you need to do is learn 1 more!
And again recruiting is a skill set that anyone who has determination, commitment and dedication can learn.
